Orkut is evil.
I was invited to join by SAM and did so as I was curious about the orkut hype.

Well guys, after just 3 days my and sam's account were deleted without any notice.

OK, thats fine with me, because the orkut concept of friendship, where personal relation become some sort of currency (the more the better) has nothing to do with me and the way I see interpersonal relations have to be treated. I just have 6 friends and thats about it, that doesnt make me a lonesome person, on the contrary, there are many people I know and like, but I wouldnt call them friends. Orkut doesnt differenciate. I hate that.

What is more, there Privacy policy, well doesnt convince me. They dont have a real adress on their page and so on and so on.

But honestly, deleting accounts from members at their will, really that totaly makes them a waste of time. I invested 2 hrs of my time in this thing, I do not complain about that, but others will. You have to be aware that you participate in a social experiment whose outcome you cannot influence and what is more: The participation in which is not up to you to decide. When the orkut owner do want you out, you are out without any reason given. So really think twice what you spent your time on.

Honestly, I personally think any instant messenger, even IRC is better to build your own virtual social network.

i spent a LOT more than 2 hours on orkut. suddently *poof* i was gone.

what should be interesting is i'm 2 degrees from orkut himself, we'll see if this is a bug or i was actually deleted.

perhaps he didn't like the comment i made (not on orkut) regarding him and his brother attempting to get laid in vastly different ways. his bro photographs scantally clad chicks, orkut starts an SN :)
